He said that’s all he had to say! Don’t be pushy!

Besides, he’ll get used to his new speed in two weeks and be back to bitching about the slow internet like the rest of us.

I did this a couple weeks ago, 3mbps down to 215 mbps down. It’s life changing, isn’t it?

Shitty ISPs really are the puss-filled hemorroidal boil on the asshole of humanity. Maybe someday we’ll purge them from the surface of this world. Someday.

When everyone leaves the building, hide.

10 minutes before everyone comes back, freshen up in the bathroom and come around the corner like you’re coming in to work, too. You get fast free internet and you don’t have to commute anymore. Win-win!

Other than Torrents, is there a real need for speeds like this? I ask this honestly, because I have 20Mbps down and use VPN for work, Stream video on multiple devices (wife and kids while I’m working from home), and playing PS3 online. I have never had any issues.

Even when I upgraded to 30Mbps to try it out, I have never seen an appreciable difference. Speed tests confirm the increase in speed, but even when I beat the hell out of it, I rarely have an issue.

The company I’m getting it from had a promotion for march; 100Mbps for $35/mo for 12 months.

Oh, but that must mean that the price will go back up to normal after the 12 months are over, right? NOPE, I confirmed with them that it will only rise 10%! So basically, the deal of the century. No way I was passing that up.

As far as usage case senarios, there are a few for me that might make full use of the bandwidth. I plan on getting a 4k TV soon and the minimum for streaming 4k stuff is 30 Mbps according to Netflix. I also get all my games from Steam, which means they must be downloaded. I don’t have GTA V yet, but the difference there between 30 mbps and 100 mbps is a 5 hour download versus a 1.5 hour one. And GTA is just the beginning; games are going to get larger and larger as time goes on.

Bad news; unless you live really close to your job, that won’t work. cat 5 has a 100m/328 ft range.

I live about 12 km away. I could use a bunch of repeaters.

For that deal alone, it makes sense. I get wanting downloads faster, especially considering how all sorts of media are moving to larger digital files.
